How To Prevent Whatsapp From Sharing Personal Data With Facebook


Its no longer news that Facebook has acquired WhatsApp Messanger for $19 billion, but the news that limited personal data on WhatsApp would be shared with Facebook so that it can deliver better friend suggestions…and serve targeted ads, came as a surprise. If you don't like the idea, in this post, you will learn how to opt out and stop WhatsApp from sharing any of your personal data with Facebook .  Just follow the steps below
Every Whatsapp user will be opted into sharing your phone number or personal data with Facebook.

Once the feature comes out, you’ll be notified that the privacy policy is changing, this is the moment you’ll have to act fast.

Before you tap on the Agree button in the notification that will pop up on your device, tap on Read, then scroll down to the bottom, untick the box and continue. That's it.


Second Option

If you tap on Agree by mistake or ignorance before you’ve had the chance to disable the feature by using the first option, you’ll have just 30 days to fix it , after which you might not get the chance to change it.

• Go to Settings>>Account>>Share my account info inside the WhatsApp app
• Then untick the box.

This will ensure the safety of your personal data from Facebook. According to Facebook, “the Facebook family of companies will still receive and use this information for other purposes such as improving infrastructure and delivery systems, understanding how our services or theirs are used, securing systems, and fighting spam, abuse, or infringement activities,”.
