Better Hardware
Equipped by Intel Atom Dual Core-Hyperthreading processor with 2.0GHz/1.6GHz and 2 GB RAM, Zenfone 5 has better hardware for multitasking compared to Moto G. Moto G equipped with 1.2GHz Quadcore Snapdragon 400 and 1 GB RAM.
Powered by a 1.6Ghz dual core Intel Atom processor and 2GB RAM, the Zenfone has better hardware for multitasking and intensive apps/games compared to Moto G.

Better Storage Capacity
Zenfone 5 and Moto G has internal storage, both 8GB/16GB. But Zenfone 5 support up to 64GB external storage. Moto G has no expansion slot.

Bigger Display
Zenfone 5 has 5" screen compared to Moto G 4.5". Both phones have 1280 x 720 resolution.

Better Camera
Zenfone 5 has an 8MP rear camera that uses Asus's Pixelmaster technology to deliver improved low light results. The Moto G features a 5MP camera that takes good photos, but falls behind the image quality from Asus. Asus Zenfone 5's rear camera is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos at 30fps. Asus has included its signature concentric circles design on the front with matte finish on the rear panel of the Zenfone that makes it looks much more stylish that the fat Moto G that weighs almost the same as the Zenfone.

Better UI
Moto G offers a stock user interface that delivers great performance, but the Zenfone's user interface also offers excellent performance with a number of additions.
The additions include better camera interface, lock screen notifications/shortcuts, improved notification dropdown menu, reading mode and a glove mode among others.
