Sad News For Windows Phone 2G users


The search experience which was made available in the universal Store in Windows 10 preview was not up to the mark. Today, Microsoft announced that changes are coming in the new Windows Store: lists and search algorithms, a new web Store, changes to the app listings and updates to ratings and reviews.

Microsoft recently launched a new web Store and confirmed that some of the previously existing functionality is not available in this initial launch. For example, there is no way to see the version number of the app and the last date it was updated in the new web Store. Other changes related to web Store.


  • New web Store and URL redirects: The previous Store URLs windows.microsoft.com and www.windowsphone.com now redirect customers to the new web Store apps.microsoft.com. Existing URLs and links continue to work and automatically redirect customers to the new Store.
  • Installing apps from web Store not available. Installing apps to a Windows Phone when using the Store in a PC browser is not supported. Apps must be installed from the device itself.

Now in windows phone we have to download and install the apps/Games from the phone itself.
Who uses 2G it will hard to face this problem, but Microsoft said that in windows 10 we can download over 100Mb Games,Apps via 3G.

Windows Insiders Must Upgrade To Windows 10 Build 10240 To Get Access To Windows Store

Microsoft today sent out a notification to Windows Insiders saying that they should upgrade to latest Windows 10 Build 10240 to get access to Windows Store. The latest The Windows 10 Store update includes some great fixes and improvements to reliability and performance. Check Windows Update to make sure you have installed the latest build and the most recent updates.

To verify that you are on the latest build of Windows 10:
Type “winver” in to the Search bar
You should see the following:
You’ll be all set once on the latest OS build 10240. Most of you will be able to experience our improved Windows 10 Store with no further action required, while a few might see a notification that says “Pardon the Interruption” and a button that will allow you to update to the latest Store version.


To verify that you have the latest Store version,
  • Open the Store
  • Click your profile picture in the upper right
  • Click Settings
  • The Store version is listed here and should be equal or greater than 2015.7.22.2

The video also goes over SmartScreen, Microsoft's built-in solution to protect users from accessing harmful sites, mirroring the function of  browser extensions used by antivirus software.

Last of all is the star feature, Windows Hello. It's Microsoft's attempt to create an authentication platform for the future, with support for fingerprint, facial and even iris scanning, allowing authentication to not only be far more accurate than a password but also less cumbersome. This is certainly a useful feature and it looks like multiple devices are soon going to support it - Intel has already provided a list of devices that to do so already,while the upcoming Talkman and Cityman phones are also expected to feature an iris scanner.

Staples Stores Will Upgrade Any Windows 7 Or 8.1 PC To Windows 10 For Free


While Windows 10 will start rolling out online on July 29, people who don't want to wait will soon have another option. Windows Central has learned that Staples stores in the US will begin offering customers a way to quickly update their old or new Windows 7 or 8.1 PCs to Windows 10 for free, even if the PC was not originally purchased at Staples.

According to Windows Central source, Staples stores will perform the upgrade using USB files, rather than online. All stores should be able to handle these offline updates by August 2. Since we don't know yet how long it will take for Microsoft to complete the online roll-out for Windows 10, this might be a faster way for users to get their free upgrade, especially if their PCs are not signed up for the Windows Insider program. As with these types of programs, it's best to call your local Staples store ahead of time to find out when they will begin this upgrade offer.

behind the Remix - Beijing-based Jide Tech - has created an OS it calls Remix OS, which
is based on Android, but is heavily customised to give you desktop features such as a

and keyboard, running on the big screen. At the same time, it's based on Android, and
you'll be using Android apps to get things done.

This might have seemed like a bad idea even a year ago, but there's a pretty good
collection of apps on Android that take care of most productivity tasks, and there is also
no shortage of fun little games you can play even without a touchscreen.

But perhaps the most appealing aspect of the Remix is the price - early bird backers

Another problem we had with some of the Android based Kickstarter projects has been
that by the time the product is delivered, Android has marched on and the hardware is
significantly behind the curve. Remix is supposed to be delivered anywhere in the world
by October 2015 - if the company can actually meet this deadline, then the Remix Mini
desktop sounds like a pretty good buy in our view.
